Ti Kuan Yin is a famous chinese oolong tea. It is hand rolled into it’s distinctive shape to preserve flavor and freshness. It is closest to a green tea in it’s oxidation, but is still considered a true tea of the oolong variety.

The ti kuan yin I’m going to review today came from Ocean of Tea. The tea was packaged nicely, and came smelling fresh and delicious. I followed the packaging directions of brewing for 3 minutes at 180 degrees F. The leaves slowly began to dance around my cup and unfurl to produce big, broad full leaves. The tea brewed a nice amber color and had a very pleasing floral aroma. The taste was nice and sweet, with a great orchid finish, which is really the trademark of this tea. I’d recommend this tea to anyone looking for a nice, affordable ti kuan yin or looking to expand their palate through tasting teas from far away lands.
